UTD DFWCSTA Coding Competition - Code of Ethics
The purpose of coding competitions is to provide participants with opportunities to put their knowledge into practice through friendly competition. In order to keep the competitive field level and ethically driven, the following practices must be adhered to:
1. Participants will not bring and/or use any electronic, prewritten code or e-readers to the competition.
2. Only one device (PC or laptop) should be used by the team for the whole duration of the contest.
3. Participants will not use thumb drives or other external drives during the competition.
4. Participants will avoid and refuse to use any code that was not developed by anyone within their competitive team.
5. Participants will avoid the use of texting, social media or other forms of unapproved communication to gather assistance from others who are not part of your team. No personal smart devices may be used during the competition by competitors.
6. Participants will not use the Internet’s resources to gather assistance in solving any of the assigned problems.
7. Participants may use printed course related textbook provided to them by their computer science teacher/coach.
All team members are required to complete this Google form in order for judge’s decisions to be finalized. Failure to abide by any of the rules above shall be grounds for disqualification of the entire team. This Google form must be filled & submitted before the contest begins at 1pm.
